I Show Up And…

2020 was a CRAZY year!

Who could have imagined that we would be worried about having enough toilet paper at work or at home for that matter? Who would have thought that we would have to wear garbage bags for PPE because nothing else could be found? How could you have guessed that you might work with someone every day for a year and still not know what their smile looks like?

You had to face so much over the last year. Worries about getting sick and spreading a deadly virus. Struggling to find childcare and finding time to help your kids with distance learning.  Calling off vacations and get-togethers. Dealing with wildfires, sanitizing EVERYTHING, stashing face masks in every bag/pocket/vehicle you own, waiting for your COVID-19 rapid test before going in to work, and so much more.

There were days where it was a herculean effort just showing up for work.

But you did. You showed up. Again and again and again, you continue to show up. And it doesn’t stop there. You show up and do whatever it takes to get your patients the care they need. You provide cutting edge, evidence-based therapy, administer CORE tests, collect data on CARE or FCM levels, and follow the clinical model. You implement these practices while the world burns down around you (literally in some cases). Each and every one of you show up when it is hard and you are tired. You show up.

You are seen, and we want to recognize you and your hard work. This year, the virtual Symposium employee appreciation event will include a video featuring you and the amazing things you do when you show up.

We are asking therapists and therapy teams to submit photos or short videos finishing the sentence “I show up and …”  Tell us what your “and” is. What amazing, challenging, surprising, funny, meaningful things do you do when you show up?

Two easy ways to participate:

  • Take a picture of you (by yourself or with your team) holding up a sign that finishes the sentence, “I show up and …”
  • Make a brief video finishing the sentence “I show up and …”

Please follow the directions attached below and submit your pictures and videos by Friday, April 16. We can’t wait to hear from you!

See you at Symposium! Registration details coming soon.
